Accademia del Lusso connects Altaroma to the future

ACCADEMIA DEL LUSSO ROME presents at Altaroma a futuristic and colorful graduate fashion show focused on wearable technology, innovation and sustainability.


Returning at ALTAROMA with “Connect to the ne(x)t”, ACCADEMIA DEL LUSSO ROME brings on catwalk the graduate collective collection completely realized by its 13 students, supervised by the teacher and renowned designer Antonio Martino and by the fashion school’s Director Laura Gramigna.

The inspirational theme looks to the future and to our even more connected reality. A concept which investigates the new interconnections between people, inside internet or through the increasingly faster communication media, analysing the changes that this modernity makes in our life.

A future-oriented collection of 35 outfits which mix technical fabrics to recycled textiles, plastic and silicone, handmade interwoven textures and opalescent effects, metal wire and glow-in-the-dark decorations, eco-leather and metallic touches.

The silhouettes chase this desire to crystallize the future through exaggerated volumes constructed with light clouds of plastic, rigid metallic surfaces recaling mechanical instruments, sharp details enlightened by iridescent fabrics.

And then oversize shapes vaguely insired by Japanes Avant-garde fashion, as well as flashy colors inspired by the most glamourous periods of the faboulous Eighties.

Banning all the classicism, also the most traditional clothing pieces like evening gowns, cocktail dresses coats and tailored suits become brand-new with the 3D silicone embroideries, the glitch-effect prints, the unexpected asymmetrical cuts or the agressive mood of fluorescent colors.
