Le spalle sembrano essere uno dei punti principali su cui si è focalizzata l’attenzione di molti stilisti. Ampliate di volume, appuntite verso l’alto, tirate su a partire dal giromanica, gli abiti spesso sembrano appesi addosso al corpo come dentro un armadio.

The shoulders appear to be one of the main points on which it has focused the attention of many designers. Extend in volume, pointed upwards, pull out from the armholes, the clothes often seem to hang on the body as in an hanger in a closet.

Hedi Slimane presenta per SAINT LAURENT una collezione che rimanda direttamente alle folleggianti ed esagerate nottate di festa degli anni ’80. Le spalline, che già all’epoca apparivano eccessive, sono il punto chiave delle sue creazioni, insieme alle micro lunghezze e al look da dark lady pop/rock. 

Hedi Slimane presents for SAINT LAURENT a collection that refers directly to the crazy and exaggerated party nights of the ’80s. Shoulder pads, which already at that time seemed excessive, are the key point of his creations, along with micro lengths and the look of pop/rock dark lady.

Il nuovo corso del marchio BALENCIAGA è firmato da Demna Gvsalia (di Vetements), che rielabora le strutture sartoriali della Maison in chiave assolutamente moderna. Giacche e cappotti sembrano prendere possesso della figura, acquisiscono un portamento autonomo. La silhouette è completamente rivista, bacino e spalle propendono verso l’alto e verso il davanti, lo stomaco arretra. La donna in carriera della nuova era Balenciaga incede senza paura.

The new course of the BALENCIAGA brand is signed by Demna Gvsalia (of Vetements), which reworks the Maison tailoring structures in an absolutely modern way. Jackets and coats seem to take possession of the figure, acquire an autonomous posture. The silhouette is completely revised, pelvis and shoulders are inclined upward and toward the front, the stomach moves back. The career woman of the new  Balenciaga era comes forward fearlessly.

Il nostro Demna Gvsalia  esagera le proporzioni delle spalle e degli abiti anche per VETEMENTS. Uno stile moderno, un abbigliamento senza distinzioni di genere, uno streetwear molto più aggressivo e con sfumature punk e grunge. Una collezione “corazzata”, sia per le spalle da giocatore di football (queste infatti le nuove larghezze), sia per la durezza di carattere dimostrata dai modelli/e in passerella.

Our Demna Gvasalia exaggerates the proportions of the shoulders and dresses also for VETEMENTS. A modern style, an apparel with no gender distinctions, a much more aggressive streetwear with punk and grunge shading. A collection “armored“, both for the shoulders of a football player (in fact these the new widths), both for the hard character demonstrated by the models on the catwalk.

Talvolta l’anti-moda prende il sopravvento e i tagli imperfetti diventano un lusso. Il carattere rivoluzionario degli stilisti più all’avanguardia prevede un ripensamento generale del concetto di abito, della sua struttura e degli elementi canonici che da sempre costituiscono la classicità di un buon taglio sartoriale.

Sometimes the anti–fashion takes over and the imperfect cuts become a luxury. The revolutionary character of the most cutting-edge designers provides for a general rethinking of the concept of dress, its structure and canonical elements that have always been the classic features of a good tailoring.

OFF WHITE, marchio disegnato da Virgil Abloh, rielabora i classici del guardaroba maschile e femminile e rovescia letteralmente il modo di vestirsi. Gli abiti sono “tagliati a metà” e assemblati con altri in maniera contrastante o armoniosa, le giacche sembrano essere state indossate in maniera sbagliata dalle modelle (nella fretta tipica del backstage), mentre invece vengono ricostruite in maniera asimmetrica: il fianco diventa il davanti, la manica pende e diventa decorativa. Le stoffe sono tagliate, i fili di trama e ordito lasciati liberi. Una visione “metafisica“ della moda, che coglie l’essenziale e rivolta la percezione.

OFF WHITE, brand designed by Virgil Abloh, elaborates the classics of the male and female wardrobe and subverting literally the way of dressing. The clothes are “cut in half“ and assembled with others in a contrasting or harmonious manner, jackets seem to have been worn by the models in the wrong way (in the typical backstage hurry), but instead are reconstructed asymmetrically: the side becomes the front, the sleeve hanging and becomes decorative. The fabrics are cut, the warp and weft threads let loose. A “metaphysical“ vision of fashion, that captures the essential and revolt the perception.

Fili che pendono, fianchetti che si aprono inaspettatamente, impunture imbastite a vista, influenze artigianali dagli anni ’70. THOMAS TAIT, sceglie di presentare la sua collezione, perfetta nell’esecuzione e volutamente imperfetta nell’aspetto, su un semplice stender, affidando l’impatto visivo della sua ispirazione ad un interessante shooting fotografico. 

Il concept è sovvertire le regole e la percezione, motivo per cui le normali pose vengono stravolte e ribaltate, gli abiti stessi assumono un diverso aspetto a seconda del movimento che assumono.

Threads that hang, side panels that open up unexpectedly, basted stitching on sight, craft influences from the 70s. THOMAS TAIT, chooses to present his collection, perfect in execution and deliberately imperfect in appearance, on a simple garment rails, giving the visual impact of his inspiration to an interesting photo shooting.
The concept is to subvert the rules and perception, which is why the normal poses are distorted and reversed, the same clothes assume a different look depending on the movement taking.
