The prestigious fashion school, Istituto Secoli opens a new venue in Novara, a new training reality created “for” and “with” companies, with the first starting course dedicated to the training of the prototypist.
The city of Novara and the surrounding area host one of the most important centers fashion industries in Italy, a unique world where some leading brands in the sector have the operational headquarters, where they design and produce their collections.
Among the most sought professional figures by companies, in the fashion sector present in Italy especially in the Novara area, emerges the figure of the “prototypist”. From here and in full harmony and coherence with its mission, Istituto Secoli opens in Novara, with the support of the Municipality of Novara and in partnership with local brands, a school of excellence dedicated to the training of prototypers, with the aim of cultivating the knowledge that is the basis of that “know-how” that has always contributed to define the exclusivity of the Made in Italy product.
A tailor-made training project in which the Secoli Method interprets the
professional needs of the companies and concretizes them in a path training that recreates the working environment of the area and promotes the growth of a shared professional culture, integrating methodologies and experience in training of the Secoli team with the professional skills of the prototype makers companies that, at the end of the journey, will intervene in first person to launch the creation of prototypes and consequently replicating the real work processes.
At the end of the course, each company will select at least 3 students to be included in the staff, thus guaranteeing excellent employment opportunities for course participants.
The “Fashion product prototype” course will be inaugurated in October 2022
and it will be a 10-month full-time course, reserved for the first year for 20 newly graduated students or workers aged between 18 and 25 years of age.
The training project will create qualified professionals who will be able to package the prototype, choosing the right processing in relation to the quality of the product required, the different types of fabric, modelling and style, the wearability of the garment and the economy of the manufacturing steps.
The area identified for the new headquarters is part of a larger project of
urban redevelopment and regeneration that concerns the spaces of the former workshops Grafiche De Agostini, a new and contemporary neighborhood where spaces will coexist commercial, residential and training. The spaces dedicated to teaching will be equipped with the latest generation machinery and state-of-the-art software that will allow the student to learn how to use the most modern technology on the market.
Istituto Secoli, which has always believed in the importance of youth education, in this case will support the students who decide to invest in their future,
thanks to a funding and scholarship plan. To underline the loan “for merit” from Banca Intesa San Paolo, thanks to which the students will be able to reimburse the tuition fee once they have entered the world of work.
